Booking your Driving Test

Now that you have completed your EDT lessons and the only thing between you and your driving license is passing your driving test, here are some information regarding applying for your Driving Test

Apply Online

Click the button below to be taken to the RSA’s website to apply online. Alternatively, you can download the Driving Test Application Form from their website and email it to drivingtest@rsa.ie.


Can I choose a particular day?

To get a particular date of your choosing, book your test approximately eight weeks in advance. You can find the current average waiting times by clicking the button below.


When will I hear back from the RSA?

You should hear back from the RSA with a notice of your driving test appointment between four to five weeks in advance of your test.


Can the RSA cater to special circumstances?

You should contact the Driver Testing Section in advance if you:

  • Have problems hearing or speaking English. In this case you are allowed to have an interpreter with you on the oral part of the driving test. This person cannot accompany you during the practical part of the test
  • Are restricted in your movement or have any disability which could affect your driving.
